History

Coming from a family with a farm, I grew up with horses. In the old days we bred work horses but in the 80s we switched to breeding Oldenburg sport horses.

One of our first broodmares was Diva by Löwen As, who gave birth to a colt named Invincible by Inschallah AA in 1981. This chestnut was sold as a three-year old in 1984 at the Elite Auction in Vechta – for 150,000 D-Mark, a record price in those days, to Otto Schulte-Frohlinde’sGestüt Grönwohldhof.

In 1984 we had the good fortune to purchase Champion Mare Kalla by Furioso II-Thymian xx out of the famous Kateste, one of the oldest and most successful mare lines in Oldenburg maintained by Rosemarie Bölts, a highly successful breeder. Kalla took the Oldenburg Champion Mare title in Rastede in 1984 as well as the I-b prize at the DLG Exhibition in Frankfurt.

St.Pr./El. mare Kalla is the mare on which we founded our dressage horse breeding operations, not only here but also at the farm inherited from our parents that my brother runs. Our jumper line is based on Salomee by Landfriese II–Sandro bred by Paul Schockemöhle.

Countless successful dressage horses and show jumpers, licensed stallions, State Premium mares and Bundeschampionat participants have been produced through selective breeding based on the best dam lines combined with well-known, strong-performance stallions.
